Small thrills and a sad spill

Thursday, 27 June 2013

I’m so tired, and basically, I’ll take my thrills where I can get them these days. So here they are: Graeme Murphy’s beautiful and unique version of Swan Lake; Well done Senator Wendy Davis; Thank you and goodbye Julia Gillard (not a thrill at all, I write this with much sadness, but it has to be said), I really do hope it’s easier for the next woman; and one of my poems was shortlisted for the Bare Hands poetry competition, you can read it here.

I do hope you get some deserved rest and are able to leave tiredness behind (though if life were like that, I guess things would be much different).

I listened to a lovely spoken word poem about Wendy Davis by a local artist here. While the entire situation is appalling, I am definitely feeling hopeful about human strength and perseverance.

Sasha: Yeah, I think we all wish for some rest. It was appalling that women's basic rights had to be defended in such a manner, but I'm so glad there are women like Davis who are willing to do it. It gave me some hope.

petal and plume: thanks.
