So I wasn’t going to blog about this, but what the heck: I was informed my book has been nominated for The Premier’s Book Award. Now, my inner pessimism is in full force, as it always is when I receive the tiniest inkling of good news about my work. The truth is though, this isn’t a big deal unless and if I actually get shortlisted, which to me seems highly unlikely. But I’ve been instructed by people wiser than me (friends, family, editors) to: a) blog about this, b) allow myself to dream a little, c) spend the prize money in my head, and d) stop being so pessimistic. Okay, you win, wiser people – but only this time.

Oh Hila, congratulations!! this time I don't really agree with you because this is kind of a big deal! It's an aknowledgment of your talent and hard work as a writer no matter if you get shortlisted or not. Sorry if I sound cheesy but it is true that the most important thing (and the greatest fun) is in the process not the final result! So enjoy!
