trois couleurs: rouge

I interrupt my small blogging 'break' to direct you to Jen's lovely blog. I did a guest post on Honey Kennedy called Style and Substance on, you guessed it, some of my favourite films. I hope you enjoy it, and thanks Jen for asking me to join your illustrious group of guest bloggers.

I think we must be film sisters as I loved the aesthetic of each and every one of those films you mentioned (with the exception of The Red Shoes, which I have yet to see)! I recently watched the Trois Couleurs and found Rouge to be my favorite as well. Irene Jacob is so captivating... And I too was so envious of Eva's wardrobe in Cracks... And everything about Bright Star is immensely beautiful... Your post made me so happy :)

I always enjoy your posts on films. I think you have taught me a lot about appreciating style in art (which I always have) but being able to validate it in an intelligent way. (I'm taking a break from re-reading my exegesis and reading blogs is a nice way to relax).

I am always, always looking for good films to watch, ones that go far beyond the hollywood blockbuster drivel. I shall certainly be watching those films you mentioned, they look and sound wonderful.

andrea: you absolutely have to see the red shoes, you'll love it.

sundari: thanks sundari, I think your photography has taught me a lot too. Good luck with all you work, I can empathise.

nancy: haha, I wish!

ana: glad you like them.

felix curds: exams suck, good luck with your last batch of them.

b: they are indeed.

kaam: "The Double Life of Véronique" is my favourite kieslowski film, but I tend to talk about it too much, so I thought it best to leave it out from the list this time.

camila: he's always interested me too.
