arrownecklace

I'm in love. With a new shop that is. Dobbin Mews (don't you just love the name?) is a sweet holiday shop filled with little things that I am most fervently coveting. I particularly love the Odette Arrow Necklace and Wiksten Colbalt Marled Loop Scarf. I've also been coveting these lovely things:

wishlist

1. Dores Long Hand Cast Brass Necklace, 2. A copy of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith, 3. Lines and Shapes Special Holiday Book Bundle, 4. Rennes Gables Leather Satchel, 5. Mociun Triangle Ring, 6. EmersonMade Old-Schools Jeans, 7. Secret Pocket Handwoven Loop Scarf, 8. Toast Cotton Linen Tunic, 9. Wiksten Tweed Merino Socks.

Realistically, I shouldn't be coveting much of anything as my family doesn't celebrate Christmas this time of year, but Hanukkah. Still, a girl can dream, right? The internet really is too tempting sometimes.

These are beautiful objects! The Secret Pocket scarves are really soft and lovely. And wow, that edition of The Great Gatsby!

Hey, I'm an atheist (I grew up Catholic but I never attend mass) but I go in for some of that Christmas stuff myself. And I'm craving latkes right now!

I'm technically an atheist too - I'm just culturally Jewish. It's more the family traditions that count for me. I'm making latkes tomorrow for a big dinner. I wish I could send you some in the mail :)

My family doesn't really celebrate christmas either. We don't even have a tree yet! ha!
I still made cards for some friends though.
I hope you have a beautiful week.

LOVE!

oh this is all so lovely, the little triangle ring and the arrow necklace. I think my christmas will be fairly low key this year. And thanks for the book recs.

oh and I forgot to say, you tweeted a conference yesterday and I found it really interesting..Ive always wondered what sort of conferences other acedemics go to...mine are all sciencey and technical.

beautiful things, but nothing more than i'd expect from you...

incidentally, have been looking for a present for my best friend (sadly in canada these days, it is a long distance affair) and spent a better half of an hour just staring at the various penguin special editions. have you seen these?

Oh gosh there are so many beautiful things here! You seem to have a knack for picking out the prettiest items. I personally have a weakness for lovely socks. ♥ Ps, just pretend that you are celebrating Winter rather than Christmas. ;) I am not Christian either but I can't resist buying presents for my loved ones at this time of year.

After much browsing, I think I would have to say that the arrow necklace is a favourite of mine too!

(you find the very loveliest of stores) ... :)

I think I'm in love too. I want that scarf! P.S. A lot of my jewish friends back in NYC get more excited about Christmas than I do--some of them even get trees and decorate.

What a wonderful website! I'm now dreaming of chunky knit mittens and little Swedish horses. You have beautiful taste and even if you don't celebrate Christmas, I hope you get a little of what you wish for and coveting is only human, right? Gatsby's one of my favourite books and the edition you found is stunning.

you all clearly have fabulous taste, judging by these comments ;)

Anabela: that scarf does look particularly soft and snuggly.

tywo: I like making stuff as presents, particularly cards. Although I admit, I don't have much time for it these days.

daydream lily: my pleasure! hope you like the book. I think our arts and humanities conferences are pretty much the same as other types of academic conferences, they're just on different topics. But I assume the format is the same. My favourite conference was in Oxford, where we ate in the hall that they filmed harry potter in - I hummed the harry potter theme as I walked in, and a cute british guy smiled at me :)

ashley chang: it does look so comfy and the dark blue colour is beautiful.

Sophie: I know! it sold out pretty fast! lucky you, you have snow, I'm most jealous.

enia: I'm honoured to give you your first award, you deserve it :) and yes, if only to have money ...

deanna, ula, secretfragileskies, tanya, alison, mir, if jane: thanks!

jenny: oh thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you liked the post - I only spoke the truth, your shop really is most lovely. I also like the idea of a present for each day of Hanukkah :)

thea: unfortunately, we're celebrating summer in Australia now - or maybe not celebrating :)

danica: I really really want to treat myself to those books, but I've had to spend too much money on books for research lately, so my "spare" funds are slowly running out.

amy: I'm so excited, getting something from you in the mail is the best surprise.

felix curds: my pleasure :)

tracey: yes, the arrow necklace is my favourite too - if only!

Christine: ha, that's funny! I've never had a christmas tree, I think I'd just find it odd.

Vanessa: yes, it's most certainly a human right, or should be :)
