bright star

I almost wish we were butterflies and liv'd but three summer days - three such days with you I could fill with more delight than fifty common years could ever contain.

-John Keats, Letter to Fanny Brawne, 3 July 1819.

I couldn't fall in love with Abbie Cornish portrayal of Fanny in 'Bright Star', I found her overbearing and annoying. But I could sympathize with her when Keats went away, the letters and the room of butterflies were so well handled in the film - your heart broke for her.

A beautiful image and a lovely quote.

I memorised that entire letter and most of the others the moment I read them. I don't think there could ever be a love letter more beautiful than one written by John Keats.

This is probably overly dramatic, but I had to catch my breath when I heard there was a film being made about Keats, my favourite poet of all time! 'Bright Star' will forever consume me.
