Johan Perrson

Johan Perrson is one of my favourite ballet photographers and I was pleased to stumble upon his website. His book The Royal Ballet: 161 Images is one of the most beautiful ballet photography books I own. I think his photographs have a more personal approach to the subject because he used to be a dancer himself. I also think his photos have a gentle quality about them.

I miss ballet terribly and I think this coming weekend will be devoted to reconnecting with it, if only for a little while.

Gorgeous images! I don't think that I ever told you that I also used to photograph ballet. For my final exhibition for uni I spent a year photographing Queenland Ballet and a couple of circuses (including living with Ashton's for a month). These photos really brought back memories, but I wish my images has been that good.

Wow, beautiful photographs!
I've always loved ballet, i wanted to be a classical balletdancer for so long.
Unfortunately i was too tall and my feet were too big (really!) to make it.

Thank you all for your super-sweet comments.

Melanie: I didn't know that! I'm so jealous! You'll have to tell me more about it.
